Workshop Leads:
Louisa Koschyk
Louisa started her professional career in primary teaching.
Throughout her work and academic study, the formation of identities
has always been prominent - especially marginalised identities within
society. She now works for a LGBTQ+ charity in London, advising the
Higher Education sector on their practices and policies to ensure inclusivity
of all. As well as still teaching when she finds the time, she also works with HSE
as a trustee and a coordinator and is the creator and host of the
podcast ‘edYOUcate’.
Jen Nuin Smith
Jen passionately believes that the purpose of education (and of wider public policy)
should be ‘wellbeing for all living beings’. Jen is currently the Founder, Democratic
Educator and Consultant at Little Forest, a learning community for home educating
children in Horsham, West Sussex. Jen is also a Trustee and Co-Coordinator for Human
Scale Education, a ‘small is beautiful’ charity which believes that education should take
place in life loving communities, not corporate exam factories. Jen co-wrote the Earth
centred curriculum for Earth Warriors, she created sustainability curriculum maps for
every Key Stage and subject in the English National Curriculum and she was the main
author of the FED Climate Education Toolkit.
